SAHA Corporate Social Responsibility
SAHA recognises it has an important leadership role to play as part of several local communities, and one global community.

We are currently reviewing our impact on the environment, including all the travel we complete, and all the paper and energy we consume. We are actively considering how to ensure we minimise, reduce and offset as much as possible of our greenhouse gas emissions.  Our newest office in Sydney has a five star energy rating. We encourage our staff to use public transport, cycle or walk in preference to driving.

SAHA actively supports certain charities, with which our consultants feel a particular association.

SAHA also encourages our team to apply their professional skills working with charitable and community organisations and to spend time on local initiatives through, for example, “community days”, where all members of an office undertake a local community project together for the day.  One specific community project includes providing direct financial support for a local school in Namibia, which is near where one of SAHA’s first large projects – the Kudu Gas Power Plant – was established.

Roman Herzog Kindergarten, Windhoek, Namibia - SAHA consultants have worked in Namibia for over eight years.  In 2000, SAHA founding partners began contributing to the costs of a small kindergarten run by one of the staff members of their client, NamPower, in Windhoek Namibia.

Since then, SAHA has continued to support the kindergarten and in that time we have been a major benefactor of the kindergarten paying off the land purchased for a replacement kindergarten and paying off all utility arrears with the local council.

The land has been fenced and there are ambitious plans to develop a community hall as well as building a permanent replacement kindergarten on the new site.  SAHA remains committed to supporting the kindergarten and will shortly be launching a campaign to raise funds for the buildings required to complete the project.
